Firkin Crane Reopening Plans
Friday 26th June 2020
From Monday 29th June we opened for staff access, to prepare the building for reopening to accommodate professional residencies from July 6th, followed by access for further activities within studies by groups that can demonstrate adherence to our Health & Safety, social distancing, indoor gathering and hygiene protocols.
Support for individual artists/groups taking part in professional residencies and other activities will be available from the team at Firkin Crane, so the individual artists/groups can provide the relevant Health & Safety protocols and risk assessments for their studio activities to ensure the utmost safety measures are in place for Firkin Crane staff, other visiting artists, clients and students.
From Monday 20th July we will resume access for client schools for classes, adhering to our Health & Safety protocols, and clients’ own risk assessments. Numbers will be limited by social distancing requirements and the indoor gathering limits at that time.
Once studio activities are up and running smoothly we will turn our focus on re-starting our theatres as performance spaces that can operate as safe spaces for both the performer and the audience.
The safety and well-being of our staff, clients, artists, students, customers and visitors is at the forefront of this planning process which is supported by our policies and procedures, analysis of building access, capacity and Health & Safety protocols, and risk assessment and mitigation check lists, that will be applied for each studio booking, class or activity until further notice.
Paul McCarthy, CEO, Firkin Crane.
NOTE: The social distancing guideline at the time of writing is to keep 2m apart.
