The workshop of Simon Tanguy will focus on finding a dancing body connected with a state or emotion. How can dance go beyond formal, develop images or theatrical states in an abstract way? Exploring emotional state (anxious, hyper active, laughing, sadness, etc…) to enrich his/her own qualities to take it into a choreographic way and into a dance (to amplify, to complex, to transform the matériel, to become landscape).

Simon Tanguy is director of Compagnie Propogande C, which performs Gerro, Minos & Him at QBP 2018. He trained in clowning, judo and dance, and his award-winning work tours internationally. His physicality is an amalgam that explores abruptly changing states, intensity of movement and musicality.

Hosted by Quarter Block Party in association with Firkin Crane, Spectacle Vivant en Bretagne, Cork City Council Arts Office.
