Cork Youth Ballet Company premiere their new show PULSE. Directed by Sinead Murphy, PULSE features 16 dancers including 5 male dancers who will showcase their versatility and creativity by performing specially choreographed pieces in neo-classical, contemporary and jazz dance styles.

Choreography of PULSE will be by Sinead Murphy, Artistic Director of Cork Youth Ballet Company and Principal of Cork School of Dance, Jane Kellaghan, Course Director of Dance at CSN and Artistic Director of CRUX Dance Company, Patricia Crosbie, Ballet Mistress with Cork City Ballet and lecturer of dance in University of Limerick and Robert Foley of IAB. Stage Lighting is by Tim Feehily.

Sharing the title of the ballet, the opening piece, will include a projection of a graph of a heart monitor across the dancers’ bodies indicating the pulse and life of each individual. Patricia Crosbie has reproduced the piece “Mack the Knife” for the company and Robert Foley has choreographed a piece called “RUN, track Run, Boy, Run”.

Cork Youth Ballet is made up of dancers from various dance schools in Cork including Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa, Cork School of Dance, Lucy French School of Dance, Montfort College of Performing Arts and Performers Academy.
