Mass, Mind and Motion

This Masterclass will play with my ongoing interests in how perception, imagination, physiology and physics are in a constant interplay in human movement. We’ll work with images and exercises that shift the ways in which we can experience movement, and we’ll notice how perception and attention offer us a constantly expanding resource for movement.

The Masterclass will be a combination of practical exercises and improvisational scores. Working individually, with a partner or partners, and as a group, we will build a shared body of information to cultivate an easy interplay between each other and the space we work in.

The imagination will be explored as a physical and evolutionary phenomenon for opening potential in dancing.

This Masterclass is a place for discovery, in which questions can be asked through the dancing. We’ll be at work and at play in engaged and embodied action, and we’ll take a ride on the momentum of our own curiosity.
