Who am I? The me I let you see?

Former Riverdance principal dancer Breandán de Gallaí and his stellar cast of Irish dancers bring you a show about the modern digital age of uploaded personal profiles more in line with who we think we should be rather than who we really are. Aon spins an intriguing narrative delivered through dramatic Irish dance with a modern twist, and performed to a wonderful, but all too familiar, soundtrack. Aon encourages us to throw off our masks, to shed our armour, and to join in a dance of liberation.

Established in 2010, Ériu Dance Company heralds a new era for Irish dance. Breandán de Gallaí and his company have produced several works to international acclaim, including nominations for the New York Drama Desk awards, Edinburgh Fringe Festival Awards and Allianz Business to Arts Awards. Aon marks Ériu’s return to the Firkin Crane after 2016’s acclaimed Lïnger.

“De Gallaí is pushing and playing with his inherited language in ways I’ve never seen before in Irish dance, and in the process exposing aspects of himself and his dance career with a seriousness that feels both tender and brave.”
Judith Mackrell, The Guardian, on Lïnger at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, 2016

MADE IN FIRKIN CRANE supported by an Ardán production residency. Co-production with Amharclann Ghaoth Dobhair.
