Welcome to Firkin Crane
Firkin Crane, the home of dance in Cork, is a place where dance artists, dance audiences and dance enthusiasts can make, see and join in dance of all kinds. Firkin Crane is unique as a resource for dance in Ireland in that it has a stage dedicated to the year-round presentation of dance. In addition it has smaller performance spaces, an exhibition space and four dance studios, all housed in a distinctive heritage building. These resources are important because of what they support people to do: to experiment with, to create and to enjoy dance in its many forms.
Following the directives issued by government, we have postponed or cancelled all activities and performances at Firkin Crane for the time being.
The Firkin Crane building is closed, adhering to the Government Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business published 01/05/2020.
Currently Firkin Crane, as a theatre and having dance studios, is set for reopening in Phase 5 of the roadmap, which begins August 10th.
As the Roadmap document is fluid and open to revision this date may move in either direction.
A scaled-back team at Firkin Crane will continue working remotely delivering online content for dancers and fans. Box office will not be manned but some events will be managed remotely. For queries please contact email@example.com.
