Jack Webb

Winner of the ‘One to Watch’ Award at the Sunday Herald Scottish Culture Awards 2016, Jack is one of Scotland’s leading dancers, choreographers and teachers who has worked and performed internationally with various companies and choreographers over the past decade, most recently with the world renowned fashion designer Hussein Chalayan and choreographer Damien Jalet on the major production ‘Gravity Fatigue’ at Sadler’s Wells, London. He has recently appeared in the centenary edition of British Vogue for Hussein Chalayan photographed by Tim Walker. Other companies include David Hughes Dance Scotland (works by Kylie Walters), The Curve Foundation Dance Company (works by Hofesh Schecter, Henri Oguike, Jonathan Watkins and Morgan Runacre Temple), Coiscem Dance Theatre, Alan Greig Dance Theatre, Croíglan Integrated Dance (works by David Bolger and Adam Benjamin), Jose Vidal Company, Dance Theatre Luxembourg, Via Negativa, Company Chordelia Dance Theatre, Lucy Suggate, Charles Linehan, Simon Vincenzi, Ben Wright and Matthew Hawkins amoung many others. Major tv and film projects include appearances in RTE’s ‘Centenary’, Ireland, choreography by David Bolger and Sunshine on Leith, UK, choreography by Arthur Pita. In 2016 Jack was nominated for ‘Best Dance Performer’ at the Sunday Herald Scottish Culture Awards.

As a choreographer he has created an acclaimed body of work, establishing a bold and distinctive choreographic voice which has been presented in major festivals and theatres internationally. He has created works in co-production with major venues such as Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead, Tramway, Glasgow and Wilton’s Music Hall, London as well as recieving major support from Creative Scotland. Most recently he remounted his work ‘Drawn to Drone’ for Scotland’s National Ballet Company, Scottish Ballet and he has created a new short film in collaboration with musician Aidan Moffat for BBC Arts’ BBC Loop series.
