Open Audition for Female Dancers
American Choreographer Micheline Heal is seeking three female dancers to work with during her BLANK CANVAS residency from 15 to 31March 31 2010.
One dancer for Death’s Garden
Created in collaboration with filmmaker Julia Reisen, the piece is an exploration of how fairy tales that we have read to us as children influence our paths towards adulthood. We are adapting European fairy tales for film that will be integrated into an installation with live performance to explore the effect of children's stories on the mindsets of children in Western society. Fairytales are, at times, extremely dark, attempting to scare us into doing the right thing. Through accentuating this darkness the piece makes sense of the masked morals that we learn as children, consciously or subconsciously, and shows the cultural reverberations of how we perceive the world as adults today.
Time Commitment:
March 21-26, 29-30: Rehearsal 9am-5pm with and hour lunch break.
March 31: Call at 9am. Final sharing at 1pm.
Qualifications:
The dancer should have experience with improvisation and collaborative work as well as a strong movement background in contemporary dance. The collaborative process will be based in experimental theater and improvisation with a heavy emphasis on viewpoints and moment work.
Two dancers for Bach Cello Suite No.1
An abstract dance for camera piece exploring concepts of union and isolation to the complete Cello Suite No. 1 by Bach.
Time Commitment:
March 16, 18, and 19th: 9am-5pm, shooting on the 19th.
Qualifications:
The dancer should come from a strong movement background in contemporary dance and ballet.

Corcadorca are currently putting together a database of all professionals who work in the theatre industry and are based in the greater Cork area. This will be similar to our existing Actors Register in terms of how it is compiled. We are looking for people who are working on a professional basis in all aspects of theatre, for example, costume designers, set designers, stage managers, composers, playwrights etc.
We are currently looking for CSV's of theatre professionals in every field who wish to be included in the register. By establishing a database of this kind, our aim is to promote closer links within the theatre community in Cork. We feel it is important that professional theatre workers have access to information and contact details. This approach stands to benefit us all and encourages a stronger base for
Cork theatre. We hope that initiatives such as this can promote collaboration and expand the lines of communication for members of our theatre community.
If you are interested in being included in this database send your details to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
