The Firkin Crane

RAW

01 Aug 2009 -
1.00 pm
Tickets: €Free Fidget Feet will be in Firkin Crane, Cork from Sat 25 July to 1 August 2009 re-working RAW with David Bolger.

Breathtaking circus and gravity-defying aerial dance work combine with risqué pole-dancing in a theatrical experience that is unforgettably RAW. Sensual, fragile and fierce, RAW is an electrifying and dreamlike evocation of nightlife culture. As the story unfolds, it explores the razor’s edge between strength and vulnerability, violence and harmony, laughter and tears.

RAW  premiered at the Clonmel Junction Festival, Ireland in July 2008 and is directed by the award winning David Bolger from CoisCeim Dance Theatre Company. The Firkin Crane has supported the creation of RAW since 2007. Culture Ireland and Donegal County Council has funded RAW in The Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2009 and it is programmed by DanceBAse@Out of the Blue Drill Hall

"The piece captured the attention of the audience from the start and offered an exciting fusion of circus and movement. The company is considered by the Irish Arts Council to be the leading contemporary circus company in this country."
Verena Cornwall, Circus Adviser – Arts Council of Ireland
