Nerida Matthaie

Nerida Matthaie completed an Honours year in 2006 researching choreographic practice after completing a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Dance), with distinction at the Queensland University of Technology. Over the past ten years she has worked as an educator, performer, choreographer, filmmaker and arts marketer working nationally. Nerida began tutoring for QUT’s Dance and Creative Industries department in 2007 teaching choreographic studies and approaching interdisciplinarity. In 2008 Nerida worked for Expressions Dance Company as a dancer and tour manager for their regional schools touring program. Nerida has worked with companies such as Quantum Leap Youth Choreographic Ensemble, Steps Youth Dance Company, Square Eyed Films, Cutting Edge, Critical Mass and Urban Ignition Youth Dance Company to name a few. She has worked with a number of diverse and renowned choreographers and artists including Ruth Osborne, Sete Tele, Felicity Bott, Rosetta Cook, Penny Mullen and Claire Marshall. Nerida’s choreographic work has been presented in venues locally and nationally. Nerida is currently working as Rehearsal Director with Buzz Dance Theatre on their new work Depth Charge to be premiered in May.
