Laura Murphy

Laura Murphy trained at University of Limerick, graduating with an MA Hon in Contemporary Dance Performance in 2003 and followed by a Postgraduate Professional Diploma in Dance in 2006 at the Trinity Laban, London. Laura also holds a BA Hon in International Marketing & Languages from Dublin City University and worked in dance administration and marketing for The Place, Laban and Dance Umbrella in London and for Daghdha Dance Company and Croí Glan in Ireland.

In 2007, supported by Dance Ireland, Laura undertook an international residency at Movement Research, New York, working with many international dance artists, and performing at the Judson Church. In 2009 Dance Ireland awarded Laura a choreographic bursary. She performed at several international venues including The Place (London), Judson Church and Movement Research - Dance Theatre Workshop (New York), Fondazione Samdretto Rebaudengo and Accademia Albertina (Turin). Laura is currently Dancer in Residence, in collaboration with Ailish Claffey, in Co. Kerry, focusing on integrating dance into the wider community by developing creative dance programs.
