The Firkin Crane

Boomerang Productions

Boomerang was founded in 1995 by artistic director, Trish Edelstein.
Although the company began in its first incarnation as a youth theatre, its main focus today are multi-media and visual arts productions.

As well as holding workshops for young people from 7 to 18 every Saturday, Boomerang has, in its time, partaken in many international exchanges in which the goal was to create and perform productions with young people from other countries and cultures. On these exchanges, groups of young people have travelled to and worked with other young people in Germany, Finland, Czech Republic, Italy, France, Portugal, England to name a few. They learned new skills and gained a chance to sample a different culture and way of life as well as partaking in art of a high standard. It is this history that informs our policy for making theatre that will appeal to young audiences.

Almost ten years on, the foundation stone of pushing the boundaries of international collaboration is still intact.
